Service Technician – Blade Maintenance

About the role

As a Service Technician for blade maintenance at Vestas, you will join a team that ensures wind turbines operate reliably. Based near Würzburg, you will work on‑site to inspect, repair and optimise rotor blades using state‑of‑the‑art equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site servicing and maintenance of wind turbine rotor blades.
• Inspect blade structures, identify defects and carry out repairs in teams of 2‑3.
• Apply laminating resins and composite materials to modify and improve blade performance.
• Document all work digitally and prepare technical reports.
• Travel across Germany during the week and return home on weekends.

Required profile

• Vocational training in electrical, mechanical, metalworking, automotive or building services engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
• Specialist knowledge of epoxy resins, glass fibre and carbon fibre.
• Ideally certified as a rope‑access technician (FISAT or IRATA).
• High safety awareness, especially when handling hazardous substances.
• Valid driving licence, preferably class C1E.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.
