Software Developer – Simulation (d/f/m)

About the role

Within the Simulation domain, the Future Capabilities team in Manching develops high‑fidelity training environments for next‑generation Unmanned Aerial Systems. As a Software Developer (d/f/m) you will design and implement complex simulation modules using modern coding trends, containerization and basic DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop modular UAS subsystem simulations in C++ following modern software architecture patterns.
• Apply DevOps and Test‑Driven Development principles and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
• Document simulation architectures, interfaces and operational procedures to ensure maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate sensor models, flight dynamics and mission planning algorithms.
• Deploy, test and validate simulation models in real training environments.
• Integrate third‑party libraries and APIs to enhance simulation fidelity.
• Analyse and resolve reported issues.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related aeronautical field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong background in C++ development and modern architectural design.
• Experience with DevOps, containerization and Test‑Driven Development.
• Ability to work in cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
