Software Developer – TypeScript Backend (Berlin/Heidelberg)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing Berlin‑based scale‑up focused on reducing CO₂ emissions in the real‑estate sector. As a Software Developer you will join a small, cross‑functional team to extend our data platform that measures and optimises electricity, gas, heat and water consumption in buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and ship new features for our TypeScript‑based backend services.
• Build and maintain REST‑style APIs that handle the full lifecycle of measurement data.
• Improve platform reliability, observability and supportability through monitoring, alerting, logging and tracing.
• Investigate production incidents, provide first‑line support and deliver follow‑up improvements.
• Continuously refactor code to keep the system scalable, maintainable and performant.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional web development experience.
• Strong background in building REST APIs with TypeScript/JavaScript, primarily on the backend.
• Comfortable working with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Pragmatic problem‑solver who can distinguish between minor details and decisions with long‑term impact.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; German is a plus.
