Software Development Engineer – Community Feedback

About the role

Amazon’s Community Feedback team in Berlin builds the product reviews and Q&A experience used by millions of shoppers worldwide. As a Software Development Engineer you will design and implement cloud‑based services, workflow architecture, and Machine Learning systems that power these customer‑facing features.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the full agile software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to testing and production.
• Develop, test, and maintain high‑quality, testable code for cloud services that handle review and Q&A data at scale.
• Own end‑to‑end solutions, ensuring availability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Monitor and operate deployed systems, identifying opportunities for automation and simplification.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate Machine Learning models into the feedback workflow.

Required profile

• Professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Experience designing or architecting reliable, scalable systems.
• Strong ownership mindset, bias for action, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Object‑oriented design and development.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based service development and operational best practices.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and integration.
