Software Engineer, Backend (Go)

About the role

Doodle is building the future of scheduling and productivity on a B2B SaaS platform used by millions. As a Backend Engineer you will own the Go services that power core features, collaborate with Java teams, and leverage AI‑assisted tools to ship high‑impact functionality quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high‑performance backend services in Go.
• Expose and maintain GraphQL APIs, focusing on efficient data fetching and integration with front‑end systems.
• Maintain end‑to‑end visibility across Go and Java services within a distributed architecture.
• Build event‑driven solutions on Kafka to ensure reliable data flow and system reactivity.
• Utilize LLM and agentic tools to accelerate development while retaining full ownership of generated code.
• Implement complex time‑zone logic that powers global scheduling features.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience building production‑ready backend services in Go.
• Ability to read, debug, and understand multi‑language codebases, especially Go and Java.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven architectures using Kafka.
• Experience designing and serving APIs, preferably GraphQL.
