Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

Shiftmove is a fast‑growing B2B SaaS platform that helps European companies manage large vehicle fleets. We are expanding the engineering team behind our core product Avrios and need a Backend‑focused Software Engineer (Java) to design and deliver high‑impact features for thousands of corporate customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and ship production‑grade backend features, owning the full lifecycle from idea to release.
• Translate customer and business problems into scalable technical solutions, including AI‑driven workflows and OEM cloud integrations.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to shape features and improve user outcomes.
• Participate in technical decision‑making, evaluating trade‑offs and proposing robust architectures.
• Deliver features in a high‑frequency release environment while enhancing system stability and reducing technical debt.
• Share knowledge within the team and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Required profile

• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and experience building production systems in Java.
• Ability to think from first principles, balance speed, scalability and complexity.
• Proactive ownership from concept to production in fast‑paced environments.
• Understanding of user needs and business impact of features.
• Quick learning agility and willingness to ask questions.
