Software Engineer – Build Manufacturing AI Platform

About the role

Join Manex AI’s fast‑moving team in Munich to shape the core of a next‑generation manufacturing AI platform. You will work on data ingestion, ontology modeling and the applications that run on the shop floor, collaborating directly with founders and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship end‑to‑end features across backend and frontend.
• Implement scalable data pipelines and maintain the factory ontology layer.
• Build performant, user‑friendly applications used daily by manufacturers.
• Write and review technical RFCs and ensure code quality through testing and observability.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and support production systems.

Required profile

• Passion for writing maintainable, tested, and high‑performance code.
• Comfort with the rapid pace of an early‑stage startup.
• Ability to own problems from design through production.
• Willingness to collaborate closely with founders and customers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one of: Python, Rust, TypeScript, React.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, DuckDB or lake‑house data formats.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or AWS.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
• Understanding of ML/LLM systems (nice to have).
• Exposure to semantic web technologies such as SPARQL, RDF, SHACL, Turtle, OWL (nice to have).
