Software Engineer – Data Platform (Go)

About the role

Wolt is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Data Developer Experience team. You will help build the core services of our Data Platform Control Plane – a Go‑based, Terraform‑like system that lets users configure and operate data infrastructure at global scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design feature solutions in collaboration with stakeholders using RFCs.
• Develop production‑grade Go code for backend services, plugins, CLI tools, CI/CD pipelines, and the React frontend.
• Write and maintain high‑quality markdown documentation for users, AI agents, and on‑call engineers.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and ensure operational excellence of the platform.
• Support diverse data platform users by guiding them toward best‑practice “golden paths”.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, building, and operating large‑scale distributed systems or platforms.
• Deep expertise in Go with a polyglot mindset (comfortable with Python or other languages as needed).
• Hands‑on experience creating and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of networking and security best practices.
• Familiarity with data platform architecture, especially columnar storage and MPP engines.
• Passion for developer experience and ability to balance user needs with technical constraints.
