Software Engineer (f/m/d) – TV

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in TV platforms to bring JavaScript applications to a wide range of Smart TV, HbbTV, CTV and DVB devices. You will work on low‑level SDKs, optimise performance on legacy browsers and ensure stability across thousands of TV models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise JavaScript SDKs that run on 5‑year‑old Smart TV browsers with limited memory.
• Write robust testing suites to eliminate “it works on my machine” issues and cover edge cases across many devices.
• Debug and resolve device‑specific bugs, often reproducible only on a single TV model, OS version and region.
• Translate HbbTV, CTV and DVB specifications into high‑performance code.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins and monitor production with Grafana and Graylog.
• Collaborate with a guild of senior JavaScript engineers to shape platform standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional JavaScript development experience.
• Deep understanding of core JavaScript concepts (prototypes, event loop, memory management) and ES3‑ES5.
• Ability to work with vanilla JavaScript without relying on heavy frameworks.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and passion for low‑level platform challenges.
