Software Engineer – Foundation Team

About the role

This is a mid-level engineering role on the Foundation team at a Series B EdTech platform serving tens of millions of students globally. The team owns the technical base that all product engineers build on, including the Flutter mobile app, AI infrastructure, developer tooling, and Go services.

Key responsibilities

• Own core parts of the Flutter mobile app, including shared components, design system, state management, performance, and tooling.
• Build and maintain agentic and AI infrastructure, including custom MCP servers, a background agent platform, and evaluation and feedback loops.
• Help integrate agentic coding tooling into day‑to‑day engineering workflows across the team.
• Improve developer experience through CI/CD pipelines, release tooling, and faster feedback loops between writing code and seeing it live.
• Ship user‑facing product features alongside platform and infrastructure work.
• Keep the existing foundation reliable so a growing team of engineers can build on it with confidence.

Required profile

• 2 to 4 years of production experience building mobile (Flutter/Dart preferred) or web applications.
• Daily fluent use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar, with a clear view of their strengths and limitations.
• Strong academic background in computer science or a related field from a well‑regarded university.
• An eye for design, noticing inconsistent spacing, off‑beat animations, or imperfect components.
• Clear written and spoken English communication and a passion for improving systems that slow others down.
• Comfort operating at pace in a fast‑moving, high‑intensity startup environment.

What we offer

• Salary range: €80,000 – €110,000 annually.
• On‑site work in Berlin, Germany.
