Software Engineer - Marketing Platform

About the role

Join the ZMS advertisement platform team at Zalando to create best‑in‑class advertising experiences for fashion brands. As a Full‑stack Engineer you will primarily focus on backend development while also contributing to frontend features that enable brands to plan, execute and monitor campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance the campaign management tool used by fashion brands on Zalando’s advertising platform.
• Evaluate and integrate leading‑edge technologies to improve throughput, latency, scalability and reliability.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of projects within a cross‑functional team, iterating quickly through the product development cycle.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders and engineering peers to deliver solutions.
• Share knowledge and mentor colleagues to raise the technical competence of the team.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript and experience designing APIs and event‑driven services.
• Hands‑on experience building web applications with TypeScript, React and GraphQL.
• Solid understanding of operational excellence and cloud‑native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts is a plus.
