Software Engineer-Mid (Python, React, TS) – Stuttgart

About the role

Iron EagleX (IEX), a subsidiary of General Dynamics Information Technology, is recruiting a Software Engineer-Mid to support its Intelligence Data Science Team on Digital-ISR initiatives at Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) in Stuttgart, Germany. The position is contingent, pending a government decision to execute based on the current contract, and requires a current Top Secret/SCI clearance and US citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain data-driven backend systems providing secure, high-performance search and analytics for U.S. national security missions.
• Develop applications in Python (Streamlit preferred) or JavaScript/TypeScript (React).
• Build backend services for data ingestion and retrieval, and design APIs and microservices with Python Flask or FastAPI.
• Implement DevSecOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis on commercially available and publicly available information datasets, stored in Postgres and accessed via SQLAlchemy.

Required profile

• Current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI is not required.
• 5+ years of related software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5 days on site; less than 10% travel; US citizens only due to government contract requirements.

Required skills

• JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Python.
• Flask or FastAPI, and familiarity with Postgres and Elasticsearch.
• Git, SQLAlchemy and basic CI/CD pipeline support.
• Preferred: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and DevSecOps tools.
