System Engineer – Test Facility Development

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a System Engineer to join the System Integration Rigs department in Manching. You will be responsible for designing and developing test facilities used for the qualification and certification of fighter aircraft systems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client specifications and translate them into system and subsystem concepts.
• Create and document technical requirements, ensuring compliance with standards and the existing product reference architecture.
• Monitor downstream development, construction, and supplier activities to guarantee interoperability and functionality.
• Supervise production processes, including material procurement and supplier coordination.
• Integrate and qualify system/subsystem components, ensuring product safety compliance.
• Support offer preparation, cost estimation, and schedule planning.
• Continuously improve the product reference architecture by incorporating new technologies.

Required profile

• Completed studies in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional training.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aviation system or test‑facility design.
• Proven experience with requirements and change management in complex engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and related tools.
