System-of-System and Cloud Architect (d/m/f)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a System‑of‑System and Cloud Architect to shape the operational concepts and cloud architecture for future manned and unmanned platforms. The role is based in Manching, a town north of Munich, offering a blend of countryside quality of life and easy access to nearby cities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational needs and develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Operations Concept (OPSCON).
• Define System‑of‑System (SoS) operational capabilities.
• Design SoS/combat cloud architecture, requirements and solutions for both manned and unmanned platforms.
• Define Mission System and Communications (COMMS) architecture at aircraft and system levels.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Telecommunications Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering.
• Proficiency with model‑based systems engineering tools, especially Cameo Systems Modeler (MBSE) and IBM DOORS.
• Strong background in Avionics Systems Engineering processes and standards.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Technologies.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
