System Safety Engineer – Aircraft Safety (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a System Safety Engineer to join our team in Manching, supporting the development, design, production and support of Airbus aircraft in line with state‑of‑the‑art safety standards and airworthiness regulations. The role ensures vehicle safety throughout its lifecycle, taking into account human factors and operational considerations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) for aircraft and systems up to certification.
• Perform risk analyses and support continuous aircraft development, including Permit to Fly and Type Certificate activities.
• Carry out Common‑Cause Analyses such as Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis.
• Generate safety requirements, evidence (tests, simulations, analyses), safety procedures and limitations, interfacing with other technical domains.
• Influence aircraft and system architecture to meet safety and integrity requirements.
• Act as liaison with internal and external stakeholders including engineering, project management, airworthiness authorities, partners and suppliers.
• Review and approve supplier safety and reliability data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physical Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft or system safety engineering.
• Strong understanding of airworthiness regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment with many nationalities.
