Technical Product Support Engineer III – Implant

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Technical Product Support Engineer III to lead technical support for implant equipment across multiple customer sites. The role involves handling escalations, fleet performance, installations, and improvement programs while acting as the primary field escalation point.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all technical support aspects for assigned customers, including escalations, fleet performance, system installations, upgrades, and improvement programs.
• Serve as the intermediary between customers and the division, providing documentation and guidance to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.
• Provide Alpha Site support for engineering installations, calibrations, and testing of new hardware, processes, or software.
• Deliver Beta Site support for customer‑facing installations, calibrations, and testing of new hardware, software, or processes.
• Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure data integrity and communicate updates to the field.
• Generate and present system performance metrics such as MTBF, MTBI, and availability, along with process data and spending analysis.
• Create and review documentation for technical improvements, system upgrades, and support plans, and present findings at the customer level.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in technical support for semiconductor equipment and a solid understanding of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, competitive landscape, and how the role integrates with other functions.
• Ability to lead small projects, mentor less‑experienced colleagues, and act as a resource within the team.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing complex issues and making informed judgments.
• Effective communication skills for presenting technical information and building consensus with customers and internal teams.
