About the role

We are looking for a Vessel Manager to join our team in Hamburg, responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant technical management of an assigned part of our tanker fleet.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and monitor maintenance, repairs and dry docking of vessels.
- Monitor class survey intervals and coordinate service providers.
- Ensure validity of statutory and class certificates.
- Prepare vessels for PSC, Flag, Class, SIRE and terminal/charterer inspections.
- Support SIRE 2.0 inspections, close technical findings and recurring deficiencies.
- Monitor and follow‑up PSC deficiencies, observations and corrective actions.
- Maintain critical tanker equipment and systems such as cargo, inert gas, tank venting and ESD safety systems.
- Develop and improve the Planned Maintenance System for new tonnage.
- Carry out physical inspections on own and foreign tonnage and ensure effective follow‑up.
- Budget planning, monitoring and reporting to the Line Manager.
Required profile
- Sailing experience as engineer at management level on oil/product/chemical tankers or a marine engineering degree.
- Experience as Technical Superintendent / Vessel Manager in a ship‑management company, preferably tanker management.
- Good working knowledge of SIRE 2.0, PSC requirements, ISGOTT and OCIMF tanker standards.
- Proven ability to prepare vessels for and support SIRE, PSC, Class, Flag and terminal inspections.
- Strong knowledge of IMO, Flag State, Class and tanker industry regulations.
- Understanding of tanker cargo operations and safety‑critical equipment.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence dealing with diverse nationalities.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Reliable, proactive and team‑oriented with good organisational skills.
- Availability for emergency response outside normal working hours.
