Vice President, Horizontal Transportation

About the role

Konecranes Port Solutions is seeking a strategic business leader to take full end‑to‑end profit and loss responsibility for its Horizontal Transportation business line. The role oversees global product offerings such as Straddle Carriers, AGVs and ECSS software solutions, and reports to the Senior Vice President of the BU Horizontal & Yard.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing management team while fostering an inclusive and innovative corporate culture.
• Define and execute strategic plans aligned with BU and Group objectives, emphasizing transparency and cross‑divisional cooperation.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and corrective actions to ensure profitability.
• Identify and develop new market opportunities through comprehensive analysis and customer feedback.
• Maintain a market‑driven product portfolio and roadmap, balancing customer needs, manufacturability and cost.
• Build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure customer centricity.
• Promote a holistic system approach to strengthen Konecranes’ position as a system integrator, shaping offering and pricing strategies with sales and marketing.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior leader with full P&L responsibility for a large, global business unit.
• Experience managing a team of roughly 300 employees across Central Europe.
• Ability to travel regularly (approximately once or twice a month) to meet business needs.
