Vice President, International Counsel

About the role

Stanley Black & Decker is looking for a senior legal executive to serve as Vice President, International Counsel. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer, the role provides strategic legal leadership for the company’s international businesses and partners with executive leadership to drive growth and manage risk.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an international legal strategy aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Partner with senior leaders to identify legal risks and opportunities across global markets.
• Serve as the senior legal advisor to international business units, supporting commercial growth, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and coach a geographically dispersed team of legal professionals.
• Oversee significant litigation, investigations, regulatory matters, and ensure compliance with applicable international laws.
• Promote efficient, scalable legal service delivery and collaborate with Legal Operations, Compliance, Trade, Privacy, and Corporate Affairs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior legal executive managing cross‑border legal matters.
• Demonstrated ability to advise C‑level executives on complex regulatory and governance issues.
• Track record of building and leading high‑performing international legal teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal, operational, and business considerations.
• Experience coordinating external counsel and legal resources across multiple jurisdictions.
