VP Services Business Development – Retail & Commerce (German)

About the role

As Vice President of Services Business Development for Retail & Commerce, you will lead Mastercard’s growth in its Services portfolio across key markets. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for acquiring new logos and expanding existing client relationships, driving revenue and building a robust pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end business development from prospecting to deal closure and revenue growth.
• Identify, engage and convert high‑potential prospects to secure new client acquisitions.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients, increasing share of wallet and expanding into new buying centres.
• Develop client‑centric growth strategies and translate customer needs into scalable solutions.
• Build and maintain senior (C‑level) relationships, positioning Mastercard as a strategic partner.
• Own sales targets, pipeline development and revenue objectives.
• Lead complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to accelerate deal execution and ensure seamless delivery.

Required profile

• Proven track record in B2B sales and business development, with success in both new‑logo acquisition and account growth.
• Experience selling complex solutions, preferably in data/analytics, loyalty or professional services.
• Ability to engage, influence and close deals with senior executives and C‑level stakeholders.
• Highly proactive, self‑driven and resilient with a strong commercial mindset.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Fluency in English and German.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
