Working Student – Flight Dynamics (18 h/week)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space seeks a motivated working student to support its Flight Dynamics team in Manching. You will work approximately 18 hours per week for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, gaining hands‑on experience with advanced software tools for large‑scale data analysis and validation.

Key responsibilities

• Review tool code and existing tests to define appropriate test coverage.
• Analyse Jira‑defined requirements, clarify ambiguities and select testable items.
• Design and implement automated test cases, including edge‑case and error handling scenarios.
• Integrate tests into the continuous‑integration pipeline, execute them and evaluate results.
• Document test outcomes, limitations, bugs and improvement suggestions in the tool’s documentation.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time student in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics or a related field.
• Experience with at least one of the following languages: Java 1.8, Matlab R2024b, Python 3.12.
• Familiarity with continuous‑integration tools such as Jenkins.
• Proficiency with Git (Bitbucket) and Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira).
• Knowledge of SLURM workload manager and Linux environments.
• Understanding of flight‑dynamics concepts or large‑data storage formats is a plus.
• Self‑organized, team‑oriented work style and advanced English (German optional).
