Workshop Supervisor – Lead Maintenance Team in Germany

About the role

As the Workshop Supervisor at the Canadian Forces Support Unit Europe in Niederheid, you will lead the internal maintenance team and coordinate external contractors. You will act as the technical expert, ensuring high‑quality work, managing project costs and handling all administrative duties related to the workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of technical staff, overseeing daily maintenance activities.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors, reviewing their work for compliance and quality.
• Interpret technical drawings, calculate labour and material requirements, and prepare cost estimates.
• Manage workshop administration, track worked hours and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively in German and English with internal colleagues and external partners.
• Perform hands‑on tasks such as pest control, key cutting, oil‑tank checks, and general DIY duties.
• Collect and transport building materials as needed.

Required profile

• Legal entitlement to work indefinitely in Germany.
• Citizenship of a NATO member country, eligible for NATO Secret clearance.
• Strong technical background with experience in maintenance or workshop environments.
• Fluent German and English communication skills.
• Willingness to undergo background investigation for security clearance.
