Accountant – Accounts Payable (Hybrid)

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services team as an Accounts Payable Accountant. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end invoice processing for European BASF Group companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payments while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, perform invoice control, posting and execute payment runs.
• Handle account clarification, vendor account issues and GR/IR reconciliations.
• Respond to internal and external requests across multiple channels.
• Execute Freight Cost Management (FRC) controls and prevent fraud.
• Resolve complex accounting topics and drive process improvements.
• Support cross‑team activities, special cases, problem resolution and project contributions.
• Create and maintain documentation and deliver training to build team capability.

Required profile

• Commercial business training or a degree in Business Administration.
• First experience in accounting and project work.
• Communicative team player open to change.
• Fluent in English; German, Turkish or Hungarian are a plus.

• Gross annual salary €40,000‑€46,000 depending on qualifications, plus performance bonus.
