Accountant Financial Reporting (Italian) – Hybrid

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as an Accountant in the International Financial Reporting team. You will handle general‑ledger activities, act as a liaison between subsidiaries and the group headquarters, and support the implementation of SAP S/4HANA.

Key responsibilities

• Process business transactions in the general ledger, asset and lease accounting, and reconcile sub‑ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, HGB and local GAAP for European BASF entities.
• Support income‑tax calculations and provide input for group reporting.
• Serve as the primary accounting contact for subsidiaries, other finance departments, central finance units and external auditors.
• Participate in projects, tool development and process optimisation, especially related to SAP S/4HANA rollout.

Required profile

• Degree in business administration or an apprenticeship focused on accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong command of English and Italian.
• High motivation, independent working style and analytical thinking.
• Enthusiasm for automation and digitisation of accounting processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP R/3.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA.
