Accountant – Financial Statements & VAT Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to independently prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with German HGB and optionally IFRS standards. You will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, from transaction posting to VAT pre‑payment communication.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) according to HGB/IFRS.
• Post and book all business transactions using the group chart of accounts.
• Prepare payment proposals, handle bookings and manage VAT pre‑payments with tax authorities.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, provisions and deferrals.
• Generate reports for refinancing, controlling and project management.

Required profile

• Certified Accountant, Tax Assistant, or commercial apprenticeship with an accounting focus, or a relevant degree.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in financial accounting and consolidated statements.
• Strong analytical mindset, meticulous and reliable work style.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office.
• Experience with accounting software such as DATEV.
