Accountant – Hybrid (Tue–Thu On‑Site) – Hamburg

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Hamburg. The role combines daily accounting tasks with compliance responsibilities under German GAAP (HGB) and VAT regulations, while working in a hybrid model that fosters collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Ensure compliance with German VAT and local tax requirements.
• Prepare statutory reports and act as a primary contact for internal and external audits.
• Maintain strong internal controls and guarantee financial data integrity.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience covering GL, AP, AR, tax and audit.
• Solid knowledge of HGB and German VAT regulations.
• Experience in a multi‑currency or multi‑entity environment.
• Fluent in German and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, SAP).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
