Accountant – Renewable Energy Firm (Hamburg)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our fast‑growing renewable‑energy company in Hamburg. The position offers ownership of core accounting tasks, collaboration with tax advisors and auditors, and the chance to drive digital improvements in our finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial accounting in line with German GAAP (HGB) using DATEV.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for partnerships and corporations.
• Compile VAT returns, statistical reports and other statutory filings.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Support the digitalisation and optimisation of accounting processes.
• Develop and refine internal workflows to enhance efficiency, transparency and quality.

Required profile

• Completed training as a Financial Accountant, Certified Accountant, Tax Specialist or equivalent.
• Solid practical experience in accounting within a comparable role.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and detail‑orientation.
• Independent, structured and proactive work style.
• Excellent German (C1) and good English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DATEV accounting software.
