Accounting Manager – Statutory & US GAAP (Germany)

About the role

AVENTICS GmbH, part of the Emerson Group, is seeking an Accounting Manager for Germany. You will act as the subject‑matter expert for statutory (HGB) and US GAAP accounting, ensuring accurate monthly reporting, trial‑balance analysis, and the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, consolidate and analyse financial statements and disclosures in line with local regulations and Emerson policies.
• Partner with Finance and Shared Services to ensure a timely month‑end close and resolve technical accounting issues.
• Execute data‑request submissions to EMEA HQ and maintain high‑quality account reconciliations and balance‑sheet analysis.
• Interpret accounting standards, provide guidance on complex issues and support implementation of new requirements.
• Lead internal and external audit processes for statutory and US GAAP audits.
• Develop process documentation, risk‑control matrices and drive harmonisation of accounting policies across German entities.

Required profile

• Hands‑on mindset with ability to balance operational tasks and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.
• Strong expertise in HGB and US GAAP accounting, with at least 10 years of experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, high integrity and ethical standards.
• Project‑management experience and motivation for continuous professional growth.

Required skills

• Statutory accounting (HGB) and US GAAP knowledge.
• SAP FICO proficiency.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Hyperion/HFM.
