AI & Analytics DevOps Engineer (Germany)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support its AI & Analytics team. You will work on secure, on‑premise deployments of generative AI and analytics platforms, ensuring compliance with German national security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operate AI and analytics applications using CI/CD pipelines on OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Maintain continuous availability, performance monitoring, and resource optimisation for GPU‑intensive workloads.
• Collaborate with the Security Office to align infrastructure with BSI IT‑Grundschutz and other national security requirements.
• Create technical documentation, runbooks and ensure audit readiness for air‑gapped setups.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in DevOps, continuous delivery and container orchestration.
• Fluent German and English with strong written communication skills.
• Eligibility for security clearance.

• Jenkins or GitLab CI for automated pipelines
• Prometheus, Grafana for monitoring
• Python, Bash, Go scripting
• GPU resource management and local AI model serving (e.g., vLLM)
• Understanding of BSI IT‑Grundschutz and DevSecOps principles
