AI Applied Scientist - PhD Intern, 3D Computer Vision

About the role

We are looking for a PhD‑level research intern to join our Munich‑based AI Applied Science team for a 12‑week paid internship in Summer 2026. The intern will work on adapting and evaluating large 2D and 3D foundation models to Zillow’s real‑estate data, advancing representation learning, multimodal modeling, and generative computer‑vision techniques at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop methods to adapt 2D and 3D foundation models using domain‑specific data.
• Build, prototype and evaluate 3D computer‑vision and generative models.
• Design and run rigorous offline and online experiments, define domain‑specific metrics.
• Collaborate with applied scientists, engineers, product and design teams, sharing results through documentation and presentations.
• Contribute to platform capabilities such as Zillow Copilot and author research papers or internal reports.

Required profile

• Enrolled PhD student in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Interest in large‑scale AI research and real‑world applications.
• Ability to work remotely or on‑site in Munich with flexible arrangements.
• Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
