Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant General Counsel to support Unison’s telecom and renewable infrastructure portfolio across Europe. Based in Frankfurt, you will work closely with senior management and cross‑functional teams to drive acquisitions, manage legal risk and support market expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end acquisition transactions for telecom infrastructure assets, including cell towers, across multiple EU jurisdictions.
• Conduct legal and property due diligence, review leases and title documents, and coordinate closings with lawyers, notaries, banks and fund managers.
• Draft and negotiate contracts, notarial documents and financing agreements.
• Provide basic property tax guidance and prepare pre‑close and closing documentation.
• Lead regular legal coordination meetings and train origination teams on real‑estate matters.
• Oversee a pipeline of renewable energy lease acquisitions, structure sale‑lease‑back and land‑financing deals, and support the development of new ground‑lease products.
• Assist with market entry activities such as entity setup, compliance, KYC and corporate structuring.

Required profile

• 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or renewable energy environment.
• Strong track record in managing complex, cross‑border transactions to closing.
• Experience in telecom infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
• Ability to work closely with senior management, origination, pricing and property‑management teams.
• Law degree and admission to practice in relevant jurisdictions.
