Assistant General Manager

About the role

The Assistant General Manager supports the Café General Manager in upholding brand standards, core values, and achieving owners' objectives. This senior business leader helps drive financial performance, team development, and guest satisfaction across the entire facility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the café’s financial performance and key metrics, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
• Collaborate with Sales to execute the café’s sales and marketing plan and grow entrée counts year over year.
• Mentor and coach junior management staff on financial goals and operational excellence.
• Work with the General Manager to set clear operating direction based on business strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
• Oversee consistent execution of systems and processes across all departments to meet brand standards.
• Build and maintain a high‑performing team aligned with the café’s vision and values.
• Implement local and company initiatives, championing change and continuous improvement.
• Ensure guest‑first culture, responding to feedback from all channels, including social media.
• Support staffing objectives by attracting, retaining, and placing talented individuals in optimal roles.
• Define performance goals, conduct reviews, and hold team members accountable.
• Develop and deliver learning and development programs to drive staff advancement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hospitality or café management with a strong financial acumen.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior managers and hourly staff.
