Associate Software Engineer (Hybrid, Aachen)

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Aachen. In this entry‑level position you will help design, build and maintain software solutions that support Keyfactor’s trust infrastructure for AI and machines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of software code bases.
• Write, debug and review code while following established coding standards.
• Contribute to pull requests, code reviews and documentation for software projects.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve architectural and technical challenges.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance teams and participate in testing activities.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies and support iterative development cycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of experience in software engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Basic understanding of the software development life‑cycle, Agile practices and coding standards.

Required skills

• Fundamental programming skills.
• Familiarity with version‑control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
