Audit & Accounting Specialist – Finance & Controlling

About the role

As an Audit & Accounting Specialist you will join the Financial Accounting & Controlling team in Berlin, working closely with Finance, Tax and Shared Services colleagues across Germany and abroad. The role combines statutory reporting, audit management and finance‑transformation initiatives while continuously improving accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full statutory audit cycle – planning, fieldwork, sign‑off and filing – in partnership with external auditors.
• Prepare annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) under HGB, including notes and management report, and support Group reporting under IFRS.
• Execute month‑, quarter‑ and year‑end close activities: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and compliance with Group accounting policies.
• Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Tax, FinOps and outsourced partners to resolve accounting issues and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Identify and apply technical accounting judgments, balancing local statutory requirements with Group standards.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and data quality.
• Contribute to broader finance transformation projects.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of professional experience in accounting and audit, with strong knowledge of German HGB and IFRS.
• Proven ability to independently lead statutory audits.
• Self‑motivated, ownership‑driven and capable of effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to present complex topics clearly.
• Fluent English and professional working proficiency in German.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
