Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator (Safety Driver)

About the role

We are seeking Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operators (Safety Drivers) to support testing, validation, and commercial deployment of autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets across Europe. You will ensure safe operation of self‑driving cars during pilot programs and ride‑hailing services, working closely with engineering, fleet operations, and depot teams.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor autonomous vehicles during testing, validation, and commercial robotaxi operations.
• Maintain full situational awareness, intervene manually when required, and follow operational procedures.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of cameras, sensors, mirrors, lighting and overall vehicle condition.
• Record disengagements, observations and operational events using company reporting tools.
• Provide structured feedback on vehicle behaviour, traffic conditions and unusual scenarios to engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with local traffic regulations, company procedures and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Experienced, responsible drivers with excellent situational awareness.
• No prior autonomous‑vehicle experience required; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment across multiple European cities.
