BIM Architect – Digital Design & Coordination

About the role

Arup is looking for a BIM Architect to join its BIM/Digital focus group within the architecture team. Based in Berlin (with flexibility to work from Frankfurt or remotely part‑time), you will help shape digital standards and drive innovative design solutions across multidisciplinary projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital standards and methods for design and planning, focusing on BIM, parametric design, simulations, AI and VR.
• Support contract and process design for multidisciplinary projects, coordinating with project management.
• Provide BIM coordination and act as the main BIM contact for selected projects.
• Set up and manage a Common Data Environment (CDE) for project teams.
• Test and evaluate new software and hardware solutions.
• Estimate BIM resource requirements and prepare BIM delivery plans.

Required profile

• Degree in architecture, civil engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Revit; good knowledge of Rhino, Navisworks, Solibri and Desite.
• Interest in parametric design, design‑supporting simulations, AI and VR for architecture.
• Familiarity with HOAI‑based project workflows.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
