Business Development Manager – Services (German)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Business Development Manager for its Services division in Germany. The role focuses on expanding Mastercard’s footprint across acquiring, payments and public‑sector markets by delivering data‑driven consulting, analytics and digital transformation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a growth strategy for a portfolio of acquiring, payments and public‑sector clients, with responsibility for revenue, pipeline and new‑business generation.
• Identify, originate and convert new business opportunities through proactive client engagement and consultative selling.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including C‑suite, commercial, digital transformation, data, payments and public‑sector leaders.
• Position Mastercard as a strategic growth partner by leveraging the full Services portfolio, especially consulting, data & analytics and value‑added services.
• Lead complex commercial discussions, negotiate enterprise‑wide agreements and drive cross‑selling initiatives.
• Collaborate with product, consulting, customer success, specialist sales and account management teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within payments, acquiring or public‑sector environments.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor and influence senior decision‑makers.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue targets and managing a sales pipeline.

Required skills

• Fluency in German and English.
• Consultative selling and relationship‑building expertise.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations and cross‑selling initiatives.
