CAD Design Engineer – Thermal Control System

About the role

The Exploration Company is seeking a CAD Design Engineer to lead the design and integration of the Thermal Control System (TCS) for its reusable orbital vehicle, Nyx. The role bridges preliminary concept work and detailed definition, ensuring the TCS fits seamlessly within the spacecraft structure and overall vehicle architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3‑D CAD models of passive and active TCS components using Siemens NX.
• Define and route TCS piping and fluid loops, managing interfaces, supports and clearance requirements.
• Support the CAD definition of primary and secondary spacecraft structures in coordination with TCS constraints.
• Iterate models based on thermo‑mechanical, structural and material trade‑off analyses.
• Maintain configuration management of CAD data and produce technical drawings for design reviews.
• Contribute to mass estimation, volume allocation and interface envelope definition.
• Collaborate with thermal, structural, propulsion, avionics and mission analysis teams to validate feasibility and margins.
• Drive continuous improvement of CAD standards, design rules and integration processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum three years of CAD design experience on spacecraft structures or thermal control systems.
• Strong understanding of thermal control principles, fluid loops, spacecraft structural design and thermo‑mechanical constraints.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
