Chemical Laboratory Technician – Food Contact Lab (m/f/d)

About the role

Join QIMA’s Food Contact Laboratory in Hamburg as a Chemical Laboratory Technician. You will support the preparation and testing of consumer goods that come into contact with food, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare consumer goods for food‑contact testing according to legal requirements.
• Simulate product use and produce food simulants for chemical analysis.
• Organise, coordinate and execute laboratory tests within the team.
• Document test procedures, results and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure all activities comply with quality, safety and laboratory standards.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training as a Chemical Technical Assistant, Chemical Laboratory Technician or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of food‑contact regulations is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and a structured working style.
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
• German language proficiency at C1 level and English at B2 level.

Required skills

• Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Good mathematical skills for surface‑area and volume calculations.
