Community & Events Coordinator (Remote)

About the role

Percona is seeking a versatile, people‑first Community & Events Coordinator to nurture and expand its global open‑source community. Working remotely, you will bridge the gap between developers, our forum and Slack channels, internal programs, and live events worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage authentic social media content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit; partner with engineering experts to amplify community voices.
• Produce short‑form video and AI‑assisted media assets, using scheduling tools such as Buffer or Sprout Social.
• Moderate the Percona Forum and Community Slack, welcome new members, route questions, and monitor community health.
• Travel to conferences, meetups, and partner events to staff booths, provide on‑site support, and represent Percona.
• Run internal programs (ambassador, contributor recognition, onboarding) and coordinate with Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
• Perform light coding and maintenance on the community website, including content updates, bug fixes, and small feature work.

Required profile

• Proven experience running or actively contributing to an online community (forum, Slack, Discord, etc.).
• Comfortable creating on‑camera video and engaging social content.
• Willingness to travel internationally for event representation.
• Ability to write simple code for website updates and troubleshoot technical issues.
