Compliance Operations Intern – Onboarding & Due Diligence

About the role

As a Compliance Operations Intern you will support the KYB, KYC and CDD casework within the Compliance Operations (CoOps) department of a licensed European e‑money institution. Working side‑by‑side with analysts you will handle real onboarding and due‑diligence cases under supervision, gaining practical experience in regulated fintech compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare onboarding cases by collecting and reviewing documents, verifying legal representatives and beneficial owners using commercial registers.
• Assist in risk assessments, apply internal policies and draft recommendations for analyst sign‑off.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation, perform quality checks on case files and support process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in AML/CTF, KYB/KYC or regulatory compliance (no prior professional experience required).
• High attention to detail and a strong quality mindset for documentation‑heavy casework.
• Analytical and structured thinking with the ability to quickly learn new tools and regulatory concepts.
• Proactive, collaborative attitude and willingness to ask questions and take ownership.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
