Construction Manager – Major Capital Projects (DTDC & EX200)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead major brownfield projects in an operating production environment. The role is freelance and based on-site in Hamburg, overseeing the DTDC and EX200 facility replacements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site construction activities from mobilization to mechanical completion.
• Coordinate EPC contractors, subcontractors and specialist vendors.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, local regulations and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Monitor schedule, manpower, productivity and conduct daily construction meetings.
• Supervise civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works.
• Oversee heavy lifting, crane operations and equipment installation.
• Identify and mitigate construction risks and interface issues.
• Support commissioning, start‑up and project handover.

Required profile

• Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of construction management experience in industrial environments.
• Proven track record delivering large capital projects in operating facilities.
• Strong contractor management and construction planning abilities.
• Experience in process, chemical, manufacturing, food, biofuel or energy sectors.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
