Construction Project Manager – Alpha Fusion Project

About the role

Proxima Fusion is building Alpha, its first fusion demonstrator, and needs an experienced Construction Project Manager to own delivery from planning through commissioning. You will work at the intersection of physics, engineering and large‑scale infrastructure, coordinating internal teams and external engineering partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, scope definition, scheduling and risk management for the Alpha construction project.
• Coordinate engineering partners and ensure contract alignment together with the Head of Siting & Infrastructure.
• Integrate inputs from Technical Integration, machine engineering, BIM and external suppliers into a coherent delivery plan.
• Work closely with the PMO scheduler, project coordinator and controllers to align schedule tracking, reporting and financial control.
• Identify risks early, guide decision‑making and maintain transparency across teams and leadership.
• Ensure construction and commissioning readiness by resolving cross‑disciplinary issues before they become blockers.

Required profile

• Significant experience delivering complex capital projects in energy, research, industrial or high‑tech environments.
• Strong understanding of engineering‑construction interfaces and owner‑side project management.
• Proven ability to drive decisions, structure ambiguity and lead multidisciplinary teams.
