Cost Engineer – Military Construction Projects

About the role

This position provides senior‑level cost engineering expertise for multi‑million‑dollar construction projects supporting the US Army, US Air Force, NATO and other federal agencies across the European Theater. The incumbent serves as the technical advisor on cost estimation, review, and negotiation for complex military facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and technically review cost estimates for large‑scale construction projects.
• Apply US and Host Nation criteria, codes, and standards in cost engineering.
• Conduct detailed quality‑control reviews of in‑house and consultant‑prepared estimates.
• Lead and mentor lower‑graded personnel in cost engineering tasks.
• Represent the organization at review conferences and conduct site investigations.
• Coordinate cost estimating services for design changes and construction support.
• Prepare construction modification estimates and advise on price negotiations.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Eligibility to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE‑450).
• Compliance with DoD civilian personnel regulations and Exceptional Family Member Program.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to obtain a USAREUR driver’s license.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport for the duration of employment.
