Country Manager – Air & Ocean Freight

About the role

Our client, a well‑established international freight forwarding organisation, is seeking an experienced Country Manager to lead and grow its Air and Ocean Freight business in Germany. Reporting to regional leadership, the role carries full P&L responsibility and requires a commercial, operational and people‑focused leader.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the country growth strategy in line with regional and global objectives.
• Drive market expansion, revenue growth and profitability for Air and Ocean Freight services.
• Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and market development initiatives.
• Hold full responsibility for country revenue, gross profit and operating income.
• Lead business development activities across key sectors and strategic accounts.
• Oversee all Air and Ocean Freight operations, ensuring efficiency, service quality, compliance and profitability.
• Monitor operational and financial KPIs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Manage the full P&L, develop budgets, forecasts and performance targets.
• Lead, coach and develop a multi‑functional team, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Proven leader in freight forwarding with extensive experience in Air and Ocean Freight services.
• Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering revenue and profit growth.
• Ability to build lasting relationships with multinational customers and industry stakeholders.
• Experience managing full P&L responsibility and leading cross‑functional teams.
