Cross-Cultural Adaptation Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Cross-Cultural Adaptation Technician to join our team in Wiesbaden, Germany. You will provide orientation services to U.S. servicemembers, civilians, and their families through the ACS Relocation Program, helping newcomers adjust to life in Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct weekly Host Nation Orientation briefings and walking tours for newcomers.
• Organise and lead additional briefings during peak PCS months (June‑August), including set‑up, registration and room preparation.
• Guide participants on public transportation, restaurant culture, ticket purchasing and local leisure activities through three monthly walking tours.
• Coordinate lunch outings at local German restaurants to demonstrate dining etiquette.
• Schedule and confirm dates, times and locations for all classes, trainings, briefings and tours, and communicate any cancellations to agencies and participants.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and German.
• Knowledge of German customs, culture and language.
• Minimum one year of recent work or volunteer experience in family service programs or German tourism.
• Experience delivering briefings, training, and preparing formal or informal correspondence, reports and lesson plans.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evening language classes.
