Customer Engineer – Field Service Role in Dresden

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Customer Engineer to act as the direct liaison with customers in Dresden, Germany. You will install, maintain, and upgrade advanced semiconductor equipment while using digital analytics to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to interpret electrical/mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license for Germany/EU and authorization to work in Germany.
