Data Analyst – Airbus‑Related Programs (Hamburg)

About the role

Join Orbital Critical Systems to work on data‑driven projects for Airbus‑related aerospace and defence programs in Hamburg. You will apply machine‑learning and inverse design techniques to accelerate advanced material development.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and develop inverse design methodologies based on data‑driven and machine‑learning approaches.
• Derive optimal material configurations directly from performance requirements, reducing iterative optimisation cycles.
• Define, develop and propose research projects in composite materials and coating technologies aligned with the strategic roadmap.
• Execute scientific R&D activities autonomously within an international, transnational organisation.
• Collaborate with academic partners, universities, research institutes, industrial partners and start‑ups.
• Engage with the wider materials and surface‑technology community to stay at the state‑of‑the‑art in inverse design.

Required profile

• Degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Experience or strong interest in data‑driven modelling, machine learning or inverse design methods.
• Knowledge of composite materials and/or coating technologies is highly valued.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level) is mandatory; German is a strong plus.
• Citizenship of a European country is required.
