About the role

We are seeking a Data Analyst Associate to join our remote team and support commercial advisory work for a Berlin‑based partner. This entry‑level position focuses on uncovering the real‑world logic behind large‑scale investments and partnerships in complex markets.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and clean data from diverse sources to feed investment scenario analysis.
• Research counterparties and competitors to understand typical behaviour and incentives.
• Synthesize complex information into clear internal memos for senior partners.
• Identify patterns in capital deployment and regulatory shifts affecting the partner’s commercial position.
• Validate existing models against observed market behaviour.
• Prepare data summaries and briefs that reflect the actual commercial reality of potential deals.
• Monitor interactions between state capital and private entities within the territory.
• Support the preparation of materials used in high‑stakes negotiations and regulator conversations.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in an analytical field such as economics, finance, or the social sciences.
• Strong ability to organise data and build logical structures in spreadsheets or research tools.
• Neutral, professional writing style that prioritises clarity and avoids jargon.
• Genuine commercial curiosity about how businesses, family groups, and sovereign entities interact.
• Disciplined research habits with evidence‑backed claims.
• Preference for accuracy and ground‑level facts over abstract concepts.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while keeping the team updated.
• Willingness to learn how high‑stakes decisions are settled in real negotiations.
