Data Center Technician (L1) – Operations & IMAC

About the role

We are looking for a Data Center Technician (L1) to join our 24x7 banking environment in Frankfurt. The role focuses on day‑to‑day data‑center operations, monitoring, IMAC activities and asset management, ensuring a stable, secure and high‑availability infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor data‑center infrastructure around the clock and respond to alerts promptly.
• Log, track and resolve incidents and service requests using ITSM tools.
• Perform IMAC/R/D tasks such as rack & stack, cabling, installations and de‑commissioning.
• Support structured cabling (fiber and copper) and maintain proper labeling standards.
• Manage delivery, receipt and inventory of IT hardware and keep the CMDB and asset records up to date.
• Control vendor access, enforce 4‑eyes compliance and maintain site entry logs.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure operational readiness and housekeeping standards.
• Handle media storage, tracking and disposal activities.
• Assist with audits by providing required documentation and operational support.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with vendors and facility teams.
• Ensure adherence to security policies, procedures and compliance standards.
• Escalate complex or critical incidents to L2 or Shift Lead.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in data‑center operations or IT infrastructure support.
• Hands‑on experience with rack & stack and structured cabling.
• Basic understanding of servers, storage and networking equipment.
• Experience working in a 24x7 operations environment.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Experience in banking or highly regulated environments is a plus.
